6th Smart Cities India 2020 expo rescheduled for July because of coronavirus concerns

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has advised that the respiratory virus outbreak in China is an emergency, which could have serious consequences around the world. Countries worldwide are taking steps to prevent the spread of a global pandemic. The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has escalated its health warning to level 2, an alert to a potential threat, and recommends enhanced precautions as the coronavirus continues to spread – advising individuals to avoid all non-essential travel to Asian countries. Some cases have been observed in India, and it is recommended to limit exposure in large congregations until the virus is contained. 

While the full scale and fallout from the outbreak is still unclear, anticipating that it may take a few months to contain the virus completely, and considering the scale of the Smart Cities India expo, which includes participation from 40+ countries (Including China), the organizers exercising abundant caution and, as a precautionary measure has rescheduled the 6th Smart Cities India 2020 expo from 20-22 May 2020 to 7-9 July 2020.
