China adds 11.4 GW of new solar power capacity in H1 – regulator

China connected 11.4 gigawatts (GW) of new solar power capacity to the grid in the first half of 2019, the country’s energy regulator said on Friday, less than half the 24 GW of new capacity built in the same period of 2018.

The National Energy Administration said China’s total solar power capacity stood at 185.6 GW, up 20% compared to the same period of last year.
