Off-grid Solar Phase-III extended till early next year: MNRE

The MNRE recently announced the extension of the off-grid and decentralised solar photovoltaic (PV) applications programme phase-III till 31 March, 2021.

Off-grid and decentralized solar PV Applications Programme Phase-III was launched by the ministry on 7th August 2018 and the scheme was valid for financial year 2018-19 and 2019-2020.

The sanction of new projects under the Scheme will be available only in the northeastern region during the extended period,

MNRE said “Approval of President of India is hereby accorded for continuation of the off-grid and decentralised solar PV applications programme phase-III till 31 March, 2021, within the approved financial outlay mentioned in administrative approval dated 7 August, 2018.

The ministry noted that implementation agencies would continue to implement the Scheme according to the approved guidelines and amendments.

The ministry further said “ solar power parks will be installed only under the RESCO mode. Detailed guidelines for implementation and subsidy disbursement mechanism under RESCO mode will be issued separately.”

The ministry launched the off-grid and decentralised solar PV applications programme phase-III on 7 August, 2018, and the scheme was valid for FY19 and FY20.”
