Sungrow Supplies 35 MW Malaysian Solar Project with Turnkey Solution

Sungrow recently supplied a 35 MW solar project with the company’s turnkey solution including Power Plant Controller (PPC) and SCADA system, which has been in operation in Malaysia.

The project is known for the country’s first utility-scale PV plant which is equipped with smart monitoring system and set to address issues of energy shortage, efficiency and sustainability of Malaysia.

Located in Northern Malaysia, the PV plant is endowed with an exceptional amount of sunshine throughout the year. While the climatic conditions like high temperature and humidity pose special challenges to solar products. Sungrow turnkey solution features easy integration with its central inverter, PPC and SCADA system, making it ideal for this plant.

Ideal for large-scale ground-mounted solar plant, Sungrow’s 2.5 MW inverter installed on-site characterizes a 10-foot design. A result of a 3-level topology and smart cooling design, it reaches a peak efficiency of 99% and can perform without derating at 50 degrees Celsius.

Notably, the PPC enables active and reactive power control, which contributes to the stability of public utility grids and guarantees PV system operators’ maximum yield.

Sungrow is also responsible for the project’s SCADA system for monitoring and remote data collection. The cloud-based platform provided by the company allows to get real-time data of the PV system devices and environment conditions, which helps locate and eliminate issues both online and offline.

Owners will be able to utilize power generation data to assist optimize the ROI goals of the power plant.

We’re excited to be a part of this 35 MW project, a landmark installation which presents our central inverter solution as well as smart monitoring system in Malaysia,” said Jack Gu, President of Sungrow PV & Energy Storage Division. “As the solar market in southeast Asia is proliferating, we’d like to provide boarder product portfolio, including one-of-a-kind smart monitoring solution for all solar players,” he added.

Reportedly another 150 MW solar plant featured by Sungrow turnkey solutions including PPC and SCADA system will come online in Malaysia by the end of 2018. The solutions are expected to secure more applications worldwide soon.
