Hindustan Zinc likely to sell its wind energy assets: report

Hindustan Zinc is reportedly looking to sell its wind energy assets. ET citing sources reports that the company has put its wind energy assets on the block.

The company’s wind energy assets are valued at around Rs 1,500 crore.

The publication citing sources reports that wo renewable energy players backed by multilateral financial institutions are vying for the business.

Hindustan Zinc’s wind energy plants are located in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

According to the publication all the plants have power offtake agreements with state electricity boards in their respective states.

Four years back the company attempted to sell the wind energy business four years ago but shelved the plan because it did not get the price it was looking for at the time.
